Bands for Concerts in the Park

South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District is seeking bids for performers for this summer’s Concerts in the Park series in July and August. Bids will be evaluated by quality of performance, professionalism and cost, weighed with the desire to provide a variety of offerings to the community. Quality promotional materials like photos and links to songs are helpful. Bands will be finalized in April. Contact Carrie at (360)221-6788 or programs@whidbey.com for more information. Bid application available here and at the SWPRD office.

Umpires:  Coed Softball

Pay: $35 per game (typically 2 short games each evening). All umpire fees are paid at the end of the season.

SWPRD is seeking umpires for our Recreational Adult Coed Softball League. 100-150 folks turn out each summer for this fun, alcohol-free, community-oriented league. Games will be played on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a tournament on August 17-18. The league follows the rules listed in the Adult Softball League Handbook.  Umpires needn’t commit to all dates, but will indicate their availability on application. Umpires will be contractors, not employees of SWPRD. Application process: Please submit an application indicating your availability, a contract and a W-9 Form.  For more information, contact Carrie at (360)221-6788 or programs@whidbey.com.
