The Wonders of Nature
A fun, engaging and creative summer art camp offering children the opportunity to explore ideas inspired by the natural world of flora and fauna, and to experiment with diverse art materials and artistic techniques including glass mosaic, solar prints, paint, pencil, sumi ink and bamboo pens, charcoal, and collage. Several projects will investigate the world of light, making sun catchers, and shadow, creating shadow paintings, as well as a glass mosaic tile project inspired by nature such as imagery of butterflies, leaves, and birds. Min 6/Max 14
Children should wear clothing that can get messy, bring a sun hat, sun protection lotion and a snack and water to drink.
*Mature 7-year-olds may join.
Instructors: Melissa Koch is a full time practicing artist, bringing a lifetime of experience, appreciation, and world travel to her classes. She has a BA in art, and a degree in architecture. Melissa has had many years of experience teaching art to children, providing children with fun, interesting and diverse art projects to learn from. firstname.lastname@example.org Jamie Conners is the art teacher at Wellington School and teaches private art classes to homeschoolers. Mrs. Conners has a degree in Commercial Photography and a BA in Fine Art and has owned her own photography business for 20 years and enjoys teaching children art.
