Who said climbing giant trees is only for young whippersnappers? Climbing old-growth trees at Deception Pass State Park is open to everyone; our oldest climber to climb on their own strength was 89 and the oldest for an assisted climb was 98! This unique activity will offer a powerful new perspective of nature rarely seen and an unforgettable experience that will be cherished for life.
Tree climbing with the regular foot/hand ascenders can be physically challenging or impossible for some. As an alternative, we have Battery Power Ascenders so almost anyone can tree climb no matter age, physical strength, abilities, or disabilities, and it is even accessible for people in wheel chairs, at no extra charge! Typically people who are considered overweight or obese might want to use a battery ascender. There is a 375 lb weight limit for the battery ascenders.
