With classes being online and less chances for social and physical activity, “recess” is a great way to supplement what PE and recess normally provide for kids. Recess will be a structured, socially distance-conscious way for kids to get outside, run around and just be kids. Activities may include fast paced scavenger hunts, capture the flag, kick ball, etc and tennis on request. We understand that people are forming pods/groups of people that they feel safe interacting, with so we nicknamed these sessions “pods” that people may sign a group of kids up for.
These sessions will be two weeks long, with one session per week and you may sign up for as many 2-day sessions as you wish.
Location: Outdoors at South Whidbey Community Park.
Bring: Weather-appropriate attire (layers!), water bottle, hand sanitizer, and arrive wearing a cloth face covering.
Instructor: Alexandra Foode has taught tennis over the past 5 years and headed up our recent summer programs. She is working on an education degree at Western Washington University and focusing on PE and History. She played tennis at the high school and collegiate level, including playing in nationals. Alex rides horses competitively and enjoys many sports.
