Disaster Preparedness for You and Your Pet

ADULTS*
What would you do if your dog needed first-aid or what you would do in case of a natural disaster with your pet? In this class, you will be reviewing dog disaster plans and basic Red Cross dog first-aid.

Pre-requisite: Participants may bring their dog to the class, but must be able to keep physical control of their dog.

Bring: Pen and notepad.

Instructor: Jan Skewes has over 30 years of dog training and disaster planning for people and their pets. She has completed numerous Red Cross and Emergency preparedness courses offered by the Seattle Fire Department, Red Cross and Therapy dog groups. She has been a therapy dog handler for over 20 years visiting various universities, veteran centers, undergraduate and K-12 classes with her dogs. She has trained service dogs, search dogs and is certified as a trainer/evaluator with the American Kennel Club.

Location: Community Park ‘Dog House’, 5495 Maxwelton Road, Langley; class meets indoors and outdoors.
