Drip Irrigation, which Rod calls “the best ever adult tinker toy set,” is almost essential for any garden on berms or hillsides (to avoid runoff) or in gardens of great size.  It is very easy to install and maintain if kept simple.  Inexpensive timers allow gardeners to go “on vacation” and travel worry-free.  No winter protection is required.  Come see how 80-year-old Rod does it and get his recommendations for good sources and references, both local and on-line.

Using plants both in the garden and in pots borrowed from Bayview Farm & Garden, we’ll explore the great varieties possible with both dwarf and miniature conifers.  We will highlight uses of contrasts in shape, colors, textures, and required care, as well as placement suggestions.  Min 4/Max 15

Instructor Rod Parke has vast experience with teaching about conifers.  He has studied under renowned horticulturists and has worked in the nursery trade.  His passion is contagious.
