Bird Identification and Behavior
ADULTS*
*Youth ages 7+ welcome with a participating adult.
Learn about the birds in your neighborhood and watch how they interact with the world around them (including you!). We will talk, take a walk, and look for birds of all kinds while we learn the basics of identification by sight and sound. Instructor will provide a handout and a bird checklist.
Bring: Please dress for the weather (layers!) and for walking on trails, including closed-toed walking shoes. Bring water bottle, cloth face covering, hand sanitizer. Optional: Binoculars and/or bird identification guide if you have one. Binoculars are very helpful but not required. Birds are everywhere!
Instructor: Brian Kenney has a B.A. in Biology from Earlham College where he served as a T.A. in Ornithology. He has been an amateur birdwatcher throughout his adult life.
Rain-Out Plan: Check your email approximately 1 hour before if weather is uncertain. We will attempt to reschedule to the following Saturday if weather is very poor.
