Barn Hunt Workshop for Beginners – CANCELLED

April 2, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

- $25.

HUMANS AGE 16+ and DOGS 6+ MONTHS*, BEGINNERS

Introduce your dog to the popular new sport of Barn Hunt.  One at a time and in a fully fenced area, dogs use their instincts to search bales of straw for tubes containing rats.  The dogs love it, the rats are unharmed and unruffled and you learn how to become your dog’s hunting partner.  This 4-hour workshop* will cover all the basics to give you and your dog a good head start in what might become your new favorite sport. Limited space, register early. Learn more at www.barnhunt.com.

No previous training required. Must provide evidence of basic vaccinations. Dogs must be able to jump on and off straw bales.  Dogs must wear a non-restrictive collar.  The workshop will be in a covered area but outside, so dress for the weather.

Location: The “Doghouse” at Community Park and outdoors, 5495 Maxwelton Road, Langley

Instructor: Victoria Farrington took her unruly terrier to a seminar in 1995 and became an early adopter, explorer and explainer of positive reinforcement dog training.  She has volunteered in shelters, done rescue and foster work, and taught classes at large clubs, small facilities and as private lessons.  She wrote for and later became editor of The Clicker Journal, earning the respect of the field’s top professional dog trainers.  Her dogs have earned titles in 10 dog sports and at all stages of life; at the age of 14, her dog Hotspur was the first terrier in the country to earn the Master Barn Hunt title.  Email –
