Putting navigation skills to use
ADULTS & YOUTH AGES 10+
In this intermediate follow-on to the orienteering intro course (Exploring is Awesome), we take your new map navigation skills into a larger park. Explore Putney Woods as you navigate with a
contour map, get familiar with a compass, learn to “relocate”, and more. After some preliminary training, you’ll complete a course in the park at your own speed. Also good for refreshing orienteering skills if you haven’t been to an event in a while. The intro course offered the day before is not required, but is recommended for novice or young map readers to ease the learning curve. Min 10 / Max 30
Bring: Outdoor shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and compass if you have one.

Location: Putney Woods Trail System. Meet at the parking lot off Lone Lake Road.
