FUN FOR KIDS
Younger kids may participate in the Fry Run, a free, casual, short-distance foot race, divided by ages, with plastic medals. Parents should be present to supervise for distancing and/or run alongside. No advance registration required for this.
Awards will be given by place finishing, divided by age division. Youth may run with their adults. Awards will be available for pick-up at the Park District office for 2 weeks after the race, in case you don’t want to stick around for the awards ceremony. We will not mail them.
CROSSING THE FINISH LINE
Stay in finishing order after you cross the finish line, as you enter the finish chute. Tear off your own race tag, and hand it to the finish chute helpers.
If you, or perhaps one of your supporters, has a bit of time to help, we need help with a few things on Saturday: finish line, trail marshals, set-up, clean up. You can sign up for a job online.
LOCATION & PARKING
South Whidbey Community Park at 5495 Maxwelton Road, Langley WA 98260. Please park next door at the High School so that we can keep the gates closed and the course clear of vehicles for your safety.
**Net proceeds go to the HIYI Scholarship Fund. This program provides assistance to children and youth from low-income families, providing opportunities for area youth to participate in sports and other physical activities and recognizes the important physical, mental, and character building benefits such programs provide.
You’ll be running on nice forested trails and some pavement. It’s a lovely course. It’s just shy of 5K. Chum Run Course (May be modified for 2023)
