We focus on basketball skill development, teamwork, and having fun. We define “winning” as enjoyment of the sport, creating friendships, and learning new skills that will lead to lifelong players.

*This division may also accommodate 6th graders not playing for the South Whidbey Middle School basketball team.

Practice days & times are determined by individual coaches and are not pre-determined before registration closes. If you have a schedule request because of other activities, please include in the “additional comments” section when registering – this is only a request and can not be guaranteed. Actual schedule may vary. We reserve the right to make division & schedule changes as needed based on holidays, non-school days, player turnout, coaches and gym availability. No refunds or credits given for schedule conflicts with practices times or game times.

COACHES NEEDED
Volunteer coaches are needed for each team in the league. Applications are available online and at SWPRD office.
Coaches should apply by December 30th and plan to attend the coach meetings.
REFEREES NEEDED
SWPRD is seeking referees for the Youth Basketball League. Referees are paid for their time working on the court, in addition to the intangible reward of impacting youth lives. The Basketball Referee is responsible for officiating scheduled games and supervising at local gyms. A high level of judgment is necessary. Applicants must successfully pass a criminal background check. Job is seasonal, part-time, paying up to $25/hour, DOE. Apply by 5pm on January 3.
